Some argue that Power Systems Engineering, which deals with the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power, is the most challenging due to its complex mathematical equations and the need to balance multiple factors such as load demand and system stability.Electrical engineering students have to deal with complex and abstract concepts, rigorous mathematical and analytical tools, and fast-changing technologies. Electrical engineering courses are often considered among the most difficult in the engineering curriculum, and they require a lot of time and effort to master.

Why is EE so hard : Electrical engineering is one of the hardest engineering majors. The students are required to study and learn concepts like voltage, current, phase, capacitance, resistance, inductance etc. Not everyone is capable of imagining and understanding these.

As it is the toughest engineering branch, electrical engineering, electrical engineering can often also include computer engineering despite the latter being a separate field of study in itself. The hardest engineering degree has been a viable specialisation in the field ever since the inception of electricity!

My personal experience as well as observing others is that EE curriculum is "harder" in two aspects. First, EE students seem to have a more difficult time grasping advanced EE concepts than CS students do grasping advanced CS concept. Secondly, EE students spend more time in the lab working on projects.Because of this, the Computer Engineering major is difficult in many of the same ways the EE major is at the start. Once the two majors diverge, EE delves into very difficult, abstract mathematics while CE goes further into coding, programming, and discrete mathematics.

Which engineering is the easiest

While civil and industrial engineering are said to be 'easier' — with chemical, biomedical, and aerospace engineering on the opposite end of the spectrum of difficulty — it is crucial to prioritize personal interest and aptitude over the perceived difficulty of various majors.

Fields like electrical, computer, or biomedical engineering often require the most advanced and complex mathematics, including calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and probability. You can't go wrong with your decision to major in either electrical or computer engineering. Both majors are consistently ranked between the top 5 to 7 programs in the nation by U.S News & World Report, and students from both majors are highly recruited.
