Definitely would recommend for a mature 10/11 year old, and it's a great start to get into read dystopian-type kind of novels! Although, as I said before, the book does progress in the romance and violence levels as it continues, so keep that in mind!In b3 there are a few sensual scenes towards the end on the book maybe some in b4 and in Fire Light (Novella). From what I remember all of these are fade to black and not explicit. I guess you could say steamy not very spicy.Red Queen is a young adult dystopian fantasy romance novel written by American writer Victoria Aveyard. Can a 13 year old read Red Queen
It has a-lot of action but few swear words and the gore isn't too descriptive. I read it in eighth grade when i was like thirteen but i wouldn't be supprized if it was rated YA-14 Honestly though as long as you have been exposed to YA and don't read too much middle-grade stuff you're probably fine.
Is there lgbtq in Red Queen : Aveyard recognizes this fault in literary representations and turns it on its head, introducing a lesbian character, Evangeline, and a bisexual character, Maven. In both cases, these characters are much more than these identifiers.
They have their first time in the forest and begin sharing a bed together in the barracks. Cal finally confesses to Mare that he loves her and Mare returns the sentiment.
While Evangeline struggles with the marriage requirements of her elite position, the character Maven Calore internally battles with his romantic complications as a bisexual man. Maven is in love with Mare, heroine of this series.

Age depends on the child. Could be ok for 12 yr old, but maybe only when 15 or 16 depending on the kind of books the kids have read. Very similar to hunger games but also very different.I'd definitely recommend this book as a solid finish to a great series for older teens. Unfortunately, because of this last book's maturity, I'm hesitant to recommend the series as a whole to younger teens (13, 14) even though I think the first two books are unique and well-written fantasies.
This book is full Mare having to leave her old life behind and learn to be silver, while also aiding a red rebellion, the scarlet guard, and figuring out exactly who she is and what her blood means. The Red Queen wouldn't be a proper young adult novel without a love triangle.

Instead of reporting her to the Silver guards, he gives her two tetrarchs and walks her back home, while Mare tells him about her life on his request.

Nevertheless, when they escape, they share a bed in the Notch and a kiss. Mare even admits to herself that "If I could speak, I would tell Cal that I'm sorry, that I love him, that I need him", ultimately admitting her love for him.
Cal, Mare reminds herself, is forbidden. Then Cal kisses Mare. She thinks about how she is betraying “my cause, Maven, and myself, but I don't want to stop.” She thinks again of Julian's warning that “Anyone can betray anyone.” She knows she and Cal are doomed to be enemies, but for now she enjoys the moment.Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
It would take 7 hours and 4 minutes to read Red Queen, 7 hours and 45 minutes to read Glass Sword, 8 hours and 44 minutes to read King's Cage, 13 hours and 23 minutes to read War Storm, and 7 hours and 35 minutes to read Broken Throne.
Can a 11 year old read it book : There are many reviews from parents stating that the book is a nightmare for kids below 16. So you may have to wait a while before reading it as the book is not child friendly. You can watch the movie instead. The book is always better, actually best, but in this case you better watch the movie for now.
