Lake Bled is of mixed origins, glacial and tectonic. It came into existence after the Bohinj Glacier melted. Lake Bled has been ranking among the highest quality bathing areas in Slovenia for years.

Ljubljana is a lively, beautiful town and you'll have far more dining options in the evening than in the little town of Bled, which in my opinion is (as a town) nothing special. The lake is beautiful and scenic and worth visiting, though.
