Is it hard to get into Cambridge?
There are quite a few Cambridge English tests, but only the most common tests available for adults are discussed on this site.

  • KET – elementary level (A2)
  • PET – intermediate level (B1)
  • First Certificate – upper intermediate level (B2)
  • CAE – advanced level (C1)
  • CPE – proficient level (C2)
  • Linguaskill – all levels.

How to calculate the CAE Score

  1. Reading and Use of English (Assessed Separately) Reading: 34 items = 50 points.
  2. Writing: 2 questions= 40 points. Part 1: 1 answer = 20 points.
  3. Listening: 30 questions= 30 points (1 answer = 1 point) Part 1: 6 answers.
  4. Speaking: 75 points (not divided into items or parts)

SKILLS AT LEVEL C1

He/she can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for the right expression. He/she can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

Is CAE C1 hard

The Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) exam is a challenging test of English proficiency, and some parts are notoriously difficult.

Can you get C2 with a CAE : Students scoring 200 or above on the C1 Advanced will receive a Cambridge English certificate for level C2. Students scoring between 160 and 179 will receive a B2 English certificate.

Someone with a C2 level speaks the language on a near-native level.

A B2 level of English would allow you to function in the workplace in English, and indeed, many non-native English speakers in international workplaces have this level of English. A person working in English at a B2 level will, however, lack nuance particularly outside his own field.

CEFR-level C1 (advanced)

You can express yourself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. You can use language flexibly and effectively for social and professional purposes.

Is C1 Cambridge hard : The answer is yes! You will need to work a lot harder and be serious about your preparation for the C1 Advanced exam. While the B2 First shows you have a good grounding in English, the C1 Advanced is closer to the level of a native speaker.

Which is harder C1 or C2 : C1 Advanced is targeted at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while C2 is targeted at the C2 CEFR level. C2 Proficiency is therefore the more difficult of the two exams.

How fluent is C2

It is our highest-level qualification – proof that you are a highly competent speaker of English. Even though the language is not their mother-tongue, they understand, speak and write it really well and have no trouble with the great majority of the slang and idioms.
