Distances in town are rarely over a mile from one another. For those who are interested in walking the perimeter of Lake Bled, the walk is approximately three-and-a-half miles. For sights outside Bled, we recommend taking alternate transport such as a car, bus or taxi.

Is Bled or Ljubljana better
Ljubljana is a lively, beautiful town and you'll have far more dining options in the evening than in the little town of Bled, which in my opinion is (as a town) nothing special. The lake is beautiful and scenic and worth visiting, though. Still, Bled makes a convenient base for exploring the area.
To cover everything in the list above and do it justice needs at least 2 full days. If you're also interested in the nearby National Park and the wonderful hikes it has to offer then I recommend 3-4 nights in Bled as a base to explore the surrounding area.Lots to see at this castle high above Lake Bled. Aside from the wonderful views of the lake and island from up high, the castle museum has many interesting exhibits around both the history as well as the geology of the region. It is worth the 9 euro admission.
